The Seeds of Life Day was held earlier this year where approximately 250 supporters of Farleigh Hospice attended the event which was a memorial fundraising appeal.
The fundraising day encouraged people who have been involved with Farleigh Hospice to donate in memory of a loved one and are invited to the hospice to attend a ‘In Memory’ service.
Farleigh suggested guests bring a single stem flower of their choice. Once they arrived they were provided with a label bearing the name of their loved one and given the option to write a message on the reverse of the label before tying it to their flower.
During the service the flowers were arranged into a floral display and located in an attractive internal courtyard for all visiting to see and read.
Throughout the whole day people arrived. It was a very moving, and emotional day and very gratifying to see that relatives and friends received comfort from this very simple idea. It was quite clear this memorial day meant an awful lot to people left behind by lost loved ones.
After the service many people took their refreshments into the beautiful gardens at Farleigh and people chatted and exchanged their memories and feelings.
