What is the Motability Scheme?
The Motability Scheme helps you get mobile by exchanging your higher rate mobility allowance to lease a new affordable, scooter or powered wheelchair.
Who is Eligible?
The worry-free scheme helps disabled people who receive the enhanced rate of the Mobility Component for either the Personal Independent Payment (PIP), Disabled Living Allowance, War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) to get mobile by leasing either a mobility scooter or powered wheelchair.
To be eligible to join the scheme you must have at least 12 months award length of your allowance remaining.
