Exciting News! Our brand-new Clacton showroom is now open, and we can’t wait to welcome customers back. There’s a real buzz about the reopening of our Clacton mobility shop, bringing improved access to mobility solutions for Clacton residents and the surrounding areas. We’ve been featured in the Clacton Gazette, and we’ll be appearing on Look East later tonight.
The Clacton Gazette had this to say:
A huge fire engulfed two buildings on West Avenue last August, destroying Easy Mobility Services, Codgers of Clacton, and Mattress Man of Essex. Fire crews were at the scene for more than 12 hours, battling the flames, while more than 60 residents were evacuated from nearby homes.
Sad - the damage the fire caused to the building.
Investigators said the cause of the fire was deliberate.
Co-owner Julie Vicary said, "The fire was a huge shock to hear about.
"The shop being closed has been very financially stressful because one minute the business was doing okay, and the next we were hit with more problems. "We were also worried about continuing to pay our staff during the period of our Clacton branch being closed.
"You never know what is around the corner". "We now have no savings for our upcoming retirement, but we had to prioritise the most important thing in our lives, which is the business."
Roger Dixon, store manager, and Dan Kershaw, retail assistant.
The independent business is refurbishing the inside of the new unit in the High Street and will open on April 7.
"Now we have risen from the ashes like a phoenix," said Mrs Vicary. A lot of the news is about businesses shutting their doors, and we want to shout about the fact that we are back. We are very excited that we have returned. Our original team is back, and our much-loved managers Roger and Dan are excited to bring the business back to the High Street."
The shop sells mobility scooters, wheelchairs, canes, walking frames and a large selection of mobility aids.
