I just wanted to write to you regarding our recent purchase of a Quickie self propelled wheelchair. Our daughter is 16 and has ME and Hypermobility syndrome. Although it was recommended through Essex Wheelchair service that she needed a lightweight self propelled wheelchair. She did not meet the funding criteria.
We had viewed several off the shelf wheelchairs at other companies and could not find a wheelchair that our daughter could manage herself. My husband researched further and contact Easy Mobility Services in Colchester. Melissa advised several different options and explained that Quickie could provide several wheelchairs to view and trial.
After several phone calls and much work from Melissa, we were able to meet and view appropriate wheelchairs. The appointment was extremely thorough and we were able to find the most suitable wheelchair for our daughters’ needs.
We were not in a position to purchase the wheelchair ourselves and Melissa suggested several charities to approach. We were fortunate to receive a large donation from Colchester Catalyst. We also crowdfunded and our daughter used her DLA fund. This has enabled us to purchase the most appropriate wheelchair for her needs.
Both myself and my husband wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to Melissa. Her customer service has gone above and beyond. She was far more knowledgeable than other mobility shops. Offering funding advice which was invaluable.
We were really impressed with the support and knowledge provided by Melissa. We would not have known how to find a local company that could provide a service in order to prescribe a specific wheelchair.
Once again many thanks
Dave and Vicky Kelway
